A Special After hours ceremony on Wednesdays through December 27

In the spirit of White House Christmas traditions past and present, the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is opening its doors after hours for special Candlelight Evenings every Wednesday night through December 27.

The new offering offers guests an opportunity to explore A Whistling White House Wonderland, a train display with a 10-foot mountain of model trains whistling over bridges and through tunnels.

Candlelight Evenings also offer pictures with Santa Claus, live Christmas music in the White House East Room and an opportunity to see a replica of First Lady Pat Nixon’s 1971 Gingerbread House.

“These special events are a tribute to First Lady Pat Nixon, her legacy of opening the White House to the American people and her love of Christmas,” the museum said.

Guests who purchase tickets for this event can also write letters and sign holiday cards for wounded warriors and Marines at Camp Pendleton and create festive Christmas ornaments to take home for their tree. Sugar cookies and hot cocoa will also be served.

The Nixon Library’s award-winning presidential museum galleries are also open during Candelight Evenings. Candlelight Evenings are sponsored by Pacific Mercantile Bank. Adult admission is $29, Children ages 5-11 pay $16. Parking is free.
