25 Years after the LA Riots, Angelenos Feel New Riots Are Likely

Nearly 6 in every 10 Angelenos feel the city may see more riots in the next few years, according to the latest poll by the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University. You can read the entire report here. We asked mommies in Los Angeles to share their thoughts on the results of this survey. Here’s what they said:

In my household there’s no racism. It’s all about what one person teaches another person. There’s no fear about more riots. I’m learning criminal justice and I just don’t see that happening.
— Alejandra Castillo, mother of 5, Pacoima

There may be more riots, yes. But I teach my kids to always respect all people and businesses. In my opinion, I don’t feel police are directly targeting certain groups. They have to defend the community and I don’t see them being racist.
— Iris Uriel, mother of 3 boys, North Hills
