My Day in Los Angeles

Krystal Costa is a very cool mommy blogger with two gorgeous daughters named Holland (18 months) and Hayden (6 years old). She can probably teach us a lesson or two about the Middle Ages and the Renaissance since she majored in Medieval and European History at Cal State Long Beach. But Krissy, as many people know her, is keeping busy raising her girls and telling us all about it in an honest and candid collection of posts on her very hip blog, My Day in Los Angeles.

We’ve already learned so many cool things from reading her posts, like 7 little known facts about the Getty Villa and tips on making a Dodgers Game a memorable experience with little girls to how she feels about not being married to her baby daddy— she’s totally fine with it and we love her for keeping it real!

You Rock, Mama. We love your style & grace. We can’t wait to read all about your summer adventures in the coming weeks and see your blog continue to grow in the coming months!

What inspired you to become a blogger?

Even though I was born and raised in LA, I never really explored my own city. As I got older and realized just how amazing and diverse Los Angeles was, I made it a point to get out and see all that this city had to offer. I started posting pictures of my little adventures throughout LA on Instagram and family and friends started asking me about all these places I would visit. That’s how my blog, MY DAY IN LA, started. Simply as a way to share all the fun, interesting, and kid friendly places in LA.

What is your proudest Mommy Blogger Moment?

I think my proudest Mommy Blogger moment is just the amount of positive feedback I have gotten on my blog. With so many blogs out there it feels great to not only have an audience but for people to take the time and just compliment me and my work. It’s such a wonderful feeling and I appreciate it so much.

What’s your favorite place to take the kids in LA?

As a family, we love going to Grand Central Market. To be in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of the city is always fun and a bit different from our beach-side town of Torrance. Of course, trying all the yummy food is half-bad either! We also love to visit all the great museums in LA, big and small. Our favorites are the Huntington Library in San Marino and the Banning Museum in Wilmington.

What’s your favorite LA hang out without the kids?

When we do have a date night, we like to check out different local restaurants. Our go-to is Mediterraneo in Hermosa Beach. We love sitting out on the patio, eating tapas, and enjoying some great wine.

What’s your best motherhood advice?

Just be the best mother you can possibly be. It is easy to start comparing yourself to others, especially with social media, but as long as you’re happy and your children are loved that is all that really matters.
