Celebrate King’s Legacy!

As the nation celebrates Martin Luther King’s legacy, Los Angeles has several activities lined up for Monday, January 15, including one of the country’s largest parades. Here are five local MLK Day Events to enjoy with your family:

1.  33rd Annual Kingdom Day Parade

The Kingdom Day Parade is known as America’s largest celebration of the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. This year marks the 33rd edition of the parade with a theme “When They Go Low, We Go High,”

The parade is taking place today, Monday, Jan. 15 beginning at 10am and will be televised live on ABC 7 starting at 11am. U.S. Senator Kamala Harris will be the 2018 Grand Marshal. The parade route starts at Western Avenue and runs west along Martin Luther King Boulevard, turns south on Crenshaw Boulevard, then east on Vernon Avenue before it ends at Leimert Plaza Park. The post-parade festival at the park features music, dancing, food and more.
