Hold Off on the Candy!

If you purchased tickets for Candytopia, the latest whimsical popup experience by Jackie Sorkin that promised to make all your Willy Wonka dreams a reality– you’re getting your money back. 

After weeks of dealing with the City of Los Angeles and postponing the opening date over permit issues at the LA Hangar Studios in Downtown, Candytopia announced it will be relocating and refunding all ticket holders.

“Unfortunately, after several weeks our landlord has still not been able to secure the proper permits necessary for Candytopia to open at the planned location,” the company said in an email to customers. “While they’ve worked tirelessly with the City of Los Angeles, the situation has still not been resolved. As a result, we’ve decided to make the difficult choice to find a new location for Candytopia.”

The company’s website doesn’t offer information regarding the new location but it encourages visitors to sign up for ticket announcements.
