2018 Mother Ambassadors

American Mothers, Inc.® announces the 2018 Mother of the Year honorees from across the United States, District of Columbia and Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. These special women were nominated and qualify for this honor by having one or more children and being inspirational in their role as a mom.

These honorees will serve as ambassadors for mothers across the country and will be recognized at the American Mothers, Inc.® National Convention in Washington, D.C. on April 22-24, 2018, where the 83rd National Mother of the Year® will be named. The National Mother of the Year® is a historic award that honors mothers for their leadership and service.

“American mothers are true American heroes,” said Connell Branan, President of American Mothers, Inc. “For over eight decades our organization has honored mothers who work tirelessly and serve greatly. It is inspiring to see so many women who embody the selfless, caring spirit of motherhood and who are using that maternal energy to make the world a better place.”

Rebecca Latham, the 2017 National Mother of the Year, is the secretary of tourism for New Mexico. She advocates for mothers to share their compassion and knowledge while volunteering with the faith-based Juntos initiative working with kids who are victims of violence and instability. Michelle Wall, the 2016 National Mother of the Year, works for Make A Wish Delaware. She is a member of her local school board, an award-winning fundraiser for the MS Society, and is an advocate for human trafficking awareness.

Anyone is invited to nominate their favorite “mom” annually from Mother’s Day to November 15 at AmericanMothers.org.
