‘A Beautiful Place to grow dancers in Los Angeles’
The INDUSTRY Dance Academy, a new, cutting edge, multi-studio facility where kids and evolving dancers can train and be mentored by the world’s leading choreographers, is currently accepting enrollment.
Los Angeles moms, Maia Suckle and Rhonda Notary along with their husbands say they partnered to open the pre-professional studio, filling the need for a high caliber dance facility in Los Angeles with great training and top-tier choreographers, all under one roof.
“When my daughter started to find her own passion for dance, I realized there was no center in Los Angeles that allowed her to truly develop her skills and nurture her abilities in the way I was raised. Rhonda and I felt it was essential to bring that opportunity to other families in Los Angeles who felt that was missing for their children as well,” said Suckle, who has performed at The Kennedy Center and The Pasadena Playhouse.
The state-of-the-art dance facility opened on April 30 with sprung floors, professional lighting, surround sound, full internet and Wi-Fi access, closed circuit TVs, a study/conference room, a kitchen and a changing room with lockers.
Located in Sherman Oaks, The INDUSTRY Dance Academy has employed experts in the areas of Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and Hip-Hop. The INDUSTRY offers training in all disciplines with a technical emphasis on ballet-based training like those dance academies on the East Coast.
Programming includes five divisions: Children’s, Recreation, Progressive, Ballet and Company along with a pre-professional, and college bound focus. Master classes will be offered with top choreographers and professionals from Broadway, and the Television and Film industries. The Academy will also feature courses geared toward boys and young men who are interested in developing their talents in the art of dance.
Notary comes from the East Coast touring with the Will Rogers Follies and the Radio City Rockettes. She says: “Versatility and being able to perform are key…My training and work as a professional dancer in this industry will be an attribute to The INDUSTRY Dance Academy. I am happy to have a partner like Maia, who has experience in the entertainment industry as well, with a like mind for great training and a safe environment for kids. Together we are so excited to open a beautiful place to train and grow dancers in Los Angeles.”
