No tutus or ballerina shoes needed here!

The Bar Method Downtown LA is a little gem of a fitness studio located at the 700 block of Spring Street. It offers barre classes for students of all athletic levels and ages. The signature method uses your own body weight, the ballet barre and dumbbells to create a great workout!
I had never experienced this type of workout and I was a little skeptical because somewhere in my mind, I thought it was intended for ballerinas.
The Bar Method DTLA is definitely not a ballet class.
The session started with a warm-up, followed by upper-body exercises and push-ups, then a sequence of leg and seat work at the barre and core exercises on the floor. My quads and abs were on fire and it felt great!
After class I had a chat with Ashley Catuzzi who is 5 and a half months pregnant with her first baby. Ashley shared that she enjoys taking classes at The Bar Method DTLA because it helps her maintain and keep active during her pregnancy.
Kristen Campos, owner of The Bar Method DTLA, shared that anyone is welcomed. Instructors are highly trained and are able to do workout modifications for any injury, fitness level, or pregnant student.
The Bar Method uses Isometric exercises which is a type of strength training in which the joint angle and muscle length do not change during contraction. Isometrics help to create those long, lean, ballerina-like sculpted muscles.
The Bar Method DTLA also features a beautiful locker room, showers and full amenities. A perfect place to workout before work or your before starting your daily routine.
The first two classes are free for all new students.
They are currently offering promotions for those interested in taking additional classes. It’s nice to get out of the routine and try out a new workout.
Give The Bar Method DTLA a try ladies, your body will thank you.
