Vegan Valentine’s Day Dinner at Crossroads

For Valentine’s Day, chef Tal Ronnen offers of an elegant 5-course prix fixe menu (along with a complimentary glass of champagne to start) of sophisticated plant-based fare at his WeHo dining destination. Following the celery root soup starter, guests will have their choice of a baby beet or little gem salad with vegan parmesan for their salad course. Third & fourth course options include indulgent dishes such as tortellini alla vodka, beet wellington with mashed potatoes and a bouillabaisse risotto with saffron kombu broth. To bring the meal to a sweet close, guests can opt for a dessert offering such as blood orange cheesecake or pomegranate sorbet. Valentine’s Day Dinner & Cocktail Party at NoMad Los Angeles

For one night only, the NoMad LA crew opens the mezzanine level overlooking The Restaurant below as a special lounge (equipped with champagnes, caviar and chicken – fried, duh – to share) to the public. Friends looking to gather & snack can indulge in an opulent large-format fried chicken & osetra caviar offering (served with blinis, lettuces and other accouterments) along with cocktails for two. Guests can also enjoy a select menu of bites, such as oysters with champagne mignonette granita and a black truffle tart, as well as a variety of sparkling wines by the glass & champagnes by the bottle.

Executive chef Chris Flint will offer a 3-course prix fixe menu at the NoMad LA’s Restaurant. Appetizer options feature dishes such as marinated kanpachi with winter citrus or slow-poached egg with wild mushrooms and crispy barley. Main courses include the choice of tagliatelle with Alaskan king crab, caramelized cauliflower with beluga lentils and vadouvan, seared branzino, or filet mignon with a bone marrow crust. For dessert, guests can select a chocolate lava cake or the NoMad’s iconic milk & honey ice cream. Wine director Ryan Bailey will also offer a $55 supplemental wine pairing to accompany the culinary offerings, or guests can order a bottle of champagne from the restaurant’s impressive collection.

Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Dinner at Michael’s Santa Monica

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, iconic West side dining destination Michael’s Santa Monica will offer a romantic four-course menu. The dinner includes shared dishes for the table, such as olives with rosemary + fennel and oysters on the half shell, as well as a second course of mixed baby lettuces and peruviana beans with black sesame, asian pear and chile oil, for each guest. Third course options include tagliolini with puttanesca and pecorino; branzino with chickpeas, olives and kale; and hanger steak with piquillo, fennel and aged sherry. The meal concludes with a choice of chocolate mousse or calamansi pudding for dessert. Supplemental wine pairings ($55 per person) from wine & beverage director Gabriel Pérez will be available.

This year, the Tam O’Shanter is offering a romantic four-course dinner experience for Valentine’s Day. The feast commences with an amuse bouche of fried oysters with remoulade and a second-course choice of grilled shrimp or beet salad with goat cheese, candied walnuts, asparagus and a sherry vinaigrette. Entree options include roasted California Cut prime rib with mashed potatoes + Yorkshire pudding, lobster bouillabaisse and filet mignon with maitake mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Each guest will receive a glass of Justin Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon or Sauvignon Blanc and a decadent chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis for dessert. Join Lawry’s this Valentine’s Day for a traditional prime rib dinner for two. The four-course feast includes shrimp cocktail to share, Lawry’s signature roasted prime rib carved tableside and accompaniments including the Original Spinning Bowl Salad, mashed potatoes and a choice of creamed corn or creamed spinach. An additional entree option of Atlantic salmon with seasonal vegetables is available and each guest will receive a glass of Justin Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon or Sauvignon Blanc. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Pizzana offers their signature Margherita pizza in a festive heart shape. Chef Daniele Uditi’s classic Margherita features San Marzano dop, fior di latte, parmigiano and fresh basil on Uditi’s signature “slow-dough” crust. Pizzana’s a la carte menu will also be available. Salt & Straw’s “Chocolatier” Flavor Series
On Fri/Feb 1, Salt & Straw ice cream debuts their February “Chocolatier” series with flavors created in partnership with notable chocolatiers. Crafted by co-founder + head ice cream maker Tyler Malek, the series features a variety of taste-provoking flavors highlighting the nuances of each chocolatier and chocolate. Each flavor is prepared by hand in small batches, including Twenty-Four Blackbirds’ Matcha Mint Truffle, Milla’s Chocolate Hazelnut Praline, Ococoa’s Sesame Fig Buttercups, Compartes’ Coffee & Love Nuts and Nibble’s 85% Peruvian Chocolate Sorbet. The offerings will be available at all Los Angeles scoop shops through the end of February with pints available to pick up in shop or for delivery through Postmates.
