#FindNewRoads
Remember the days when a big truck seemed too intimidating to use for morning school drop-offs and afternoon trips to your kids’ soccer practice?
Well, those days are over.
We’ve entered a new era, L.A. Moms— one where more people are aware that women Can. Do. It. All. And with this collective knowledge, it’s time keep on truckin’… literally.
If you love big trucks and have always enjoyed driving them— congrats. You’ve stayed true to your badassery. But if you’re like us, you’ve taken comfort in the familiarity of owning a sedan, a mini van or an SUV.
The good news is, it’s not too late to step up to the plate and ride higher, L.A. Moms!
We say this because a ginormous and gorgeous shiny red hot All-New Chevy Silverado recently arrived for a test drive. Upon looking at it, we knew it was the strongest, most advanced Silverado ever.
We explored the roads with this beast, er, beauty and reached a definitive conclusion— more moms should consider driving a truck. Not only does the All-New Chevy Silverado demand respect on the road, there are many mom-friendly features to consider:
Safety & Technology
*Rear Seat Reminder
With this technology moms are reminded to check the back seat for personal items, kids or pets before leaving the vehicle. It works by monitoring when the doors are opened and closed within ten minutes before the vehicle is started, or if they are opened and closed while the vehicle is running. Once the vehicle is switched off, you’ll be reminded to take a look at the rear seat before exiting the car. Yassssss.
*Teen Driver Technology
If you’ve got teenage kids reaching the driving age, you’ve come to the right truck. The Silverado’s teen driver technology will allow you to track your teen’s driving performance including distance driven, maximum speed reached, tailgating tendencies, among other things. Plus, you’re able to limit the radio loudness and mute the audio of any paired device when front seat occupants are not wearing their seat belts. It also provides warnings when the vehicle is traveling faster than preset speeds. #SlowDownMyChild
Connectivity & App Pairing

The Chevy Silverado boasts 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and USB ports for kids to plug in their tablets, portable game consoles or DVD Players (that will suerly help avoid too many “Are we there yet?” type questions). There’s also a power outlet inside the truck for other connection/plug-in needs.
*MyChevrolet
Now, if you download the MyChevrolet app on your smart device, you’ll get automatic access to Vehicle Locate, a new feature that lets you check-in with your teen driver. Vehicle Locate basically allows Chevy owners to send automated text alerts to friends and family when their connected vehicle enters or leaves a designated boundary area or arrives or departs from an address. It can also pinpoint the location of the connected vehicle at any given time.
Comfort and Amenities
The seats are wide, there’s ample space for storing stuff and a six-speaker audio system is integrated so you can loudly play Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots are Made for Walking… trust us.
The All-New Chevy Silverado has a rear view camera. This means, no more having to worry about gauging the distance between your truck and the wall/car/gas pump behind you. The camera lets you know when you’ve reversed enough.
Now for very important information regarding the All-New Chevy Silverado’s fuel economy.
Well, this truck certainly delivers when it comes to gas guzzling abilities at 20 miles per gallon and an average gas cost of $1,900 per year.
Based on a ranking from FuelEconomy.gov (the official U.S. Government source for fuel economy information), the truck gets a 4 out 10 rating for fuel economy and Greenhouse Gas emissions. Chevrolet, however, also makes an affordable electric vehicle called the Chevy Bolt EV, in case you were wondering.
Needless to say, a smaller car wouldn’t be too helpful if you need to transport a huge girl scout cookie shipment to your daughter’s annual fundraising event; or load the new bunk bed you purchased for your kiddos on Craigslist. Just sayin’.
The All-New Chevy Silverado’s got us thinking big these days.
