Since the last time we featured Cecily Lewis, her family has grown (and so has her audience).

Cecily, an actress, content creator and founder of the HOLLYMOMTRESS Blog delivered her daughter Sloane in September 2018. Her son Blake is nine-years-old now.

In her powerful birth video, Cecily tells her daughter to remember she comes from a line of strong women.

“Becoming a woman and navigating the world can be emotional and weary sometimes,” narrates Cecily. “But know that you come from a long line of victorious warriors who have stared life in the face and walked in courage at every turn.”

In 2005, Cecily and her husband drove to Los Angeles from Florida on a cross-country journey and never looked back. A graduate of NYC’s famed Jiulliard School, one of the world’s leading performing arts schools, Cecily arrived in L.A. ready to pursue her entertainment career. She has landed acting gigs, brand collaborations and launched a series of interviews with fellow moms raising African-American boys in Los Angeles. On her blog, she “celebrates mothers who are doing 5,000 things and want to do at least some of them well.”

What inspired you to become a blogger?

A MOMMY FRIEND OF MINE, SELENA HUGHES INTRODUCED ME TO THE WORLD OF BLOGGING AND ALL OF ITS POSSIBILITIES. I STARTED ATTENDING EVENTS WITH HER AND GOT HOOKED. IT IS A GREAT CREATIVE OUTLET TO DOCUMENT ALL OF MY HOLLYMOMTRESS SHENANIGANS I HAVE MET SOME AMAZING INSPIRING MOMS IN THE PROCESS WHO HAVE BECOME MENTORS AND FRIENDS.

What is your proudest Mommy Blogger Moment?

THIS PAST YEAR I INTERVIEWED FELLOW MOMMY FIRENDS ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE RASING AFRICAN AMERICAN BOYS IN LA AND THEIR SIMPLE POIGNANT STORIES ARE BREATHTAKING AND IM SO PROUD TO DOCUMENT AND SHARE THEIR STORIES VIA MY YOU TUBE PAGE @HOLLYMOMTRESS
