Mommy in Los Angeles Magazine Turns Five

We could have quit a long time ago.
After all, this magazine project was never a full-time business. It was an opportunity to create community among moms in this ever-growing city of big dreams and big ideas.
A magazine, however, is more than just a blog post or article— it’s a collection of stories, photos, design ideas… it’s handling multiple sections, elements and people, simultaneously. It’s a lot of moving parts, contributors, advertisers and social media responsibilities. In other words, It’s a project that truly takes a village.
We’ve taken long breaks when motherhood and other obligations have pulled us away. We came to a hard stop during the global pandemic, where, instead of pivoting to move the project ahead, we spiraled into a space of languish and haziness.
Still, we emerged and published the long-overdue Pandemic edition in 2022 because we believe the stories within the pages of Mommy In L.A. Magazine truly matter.
They’re a historical archive of our own individual journeys raising the next generation of Angelenos while trying to find ourselves within the commotion.
We elevate women’s voices by sharing stories of fellow moms and allowing their journeys and challenges to serve as inspiration for all.
