Setting a ‘New High’ for Bride & Groom

Have you ever wanted a wedding expo that peeks behind the veil and champagne bubbles, and changes the view to infused wine, edibles, and hand-rolled joints as table favors? If you answered yes, the Cannabis Wedding Expo (CWE) is for you.

The CWE will make a stop in Studio City on Saturday, March 3, from 11am – 3pm, showcasing a goldmine of lucrative brands, edibles, tabletop, apparel and more, through the lens of the cannabis plant — all focused on the digitally engaged, cannabis imbibing, millennial couple.

Bec Koop and Madlyne Kelly, co-owners of Irie Wedding and Events along with business partner Philip Wolf, owner of Cultivating Spirits, are hosting CWE. They created the expo because they saw a need to treat cannabis with the same reverence that wine is treated at special events.

“Saying ‘I Do’ doesn’t dictate that you must toast with champagne!…People will soon know that they can hire a ‘budtender’ like ‘Top Shelf’ to administer the correct micro-dose to Aunt Kate,” says Carolyn Gerin, a marketing professional for the cannabis industry.

CWE will feature emerging and established cannabis brands and canna-wedding experts who will demonstrate the myriad ways that couples can incorporate cannabis into their wedding. CWE will also showcase companies and service providers who outline the cannabis experience for all levels of consumers—from the canna-curious to canna-connoisseurs. Attendees can expect live music and non-infused vendor food & beverage sampling.

To date, Denver, CO has lead the charge for style and legitimacy, but recreational cannabis in California is here for this calendar year. That said, the San Francisco and Los Angeles wedding event will set a ‘new high’ for how couples incorporate cannabis into their ceremony, food and beverages, fashion, skin care, tabletop and décor, and beyond.
