Lisa Marie Aguirre’s got style.
What we love about this mommy from Highland Park is that she makes everything look simple and chic! It’s one of her unique talents, which accurately matches the name of her blog, Style Sencillo (sencillo is Spanish for simple).
The LA-born and raised mom of Breaker, 4 and David 14 had been thinking about starting a blog for several years until she finally decided to go for it. Not only did having children a decade apart inspire some fun blog posts, Lisa Marie also used Style Sencillo to share her pregnancy story, which included having to have a cyst removal surgery when she was only 17 weeks along.
Among our favorite posts? Her tips on how to rock a pink bomber jacket, ways to get creative and extend the life of kids’ sweats in LA, plus a super cute Mommy and Me costume idea for Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland (hint it has to do with donuts with sprinkles).

What inspired you to become a blogger?
I wanted to be a blogger about 8 years ago but blogging wasn’t as big as it is now, so I was discouraged. Becoming a stay-at-home mom left me feeling a little empty. I jumped out of my comfort zone and decided to start my blog. I have so many beautiful bloggers that inspired me and that gave me the push.
What is your proudest Mommy Blogger Moment?
A proud moment for me was clicking ‘publish’ on my very first post! My heart was racing and I was still uncertain on whether I would actually follow through. But eight months later I’m still at it and loving every minute of it. The challenge, the excitement, the creative part– it’s all so exciting to me!
What’s your favorite place to take the kids in LA?
I would say Disneyland not sure if it’s considered LA, lol but something so magical when go as a family!
What’s your favorite LA hang out without the kids?
I’d have to say any cool bar/restaurant in Highland Park. We live in the area and there are so many cool adult hang outs around.
What’s your best motherhood advice?
To live in the moment as much as you can. Most of us moms are always so busy with a list as long as Santa’s and we forget to live in the moment. My kids are getting so big and I don’t want to forget anything about their childhood.
