Summer Fashion Statement
LA based luxury clothing brand Sun Child is opening a pop-up shop at The Piece Collective in Venice during the month of June.
The Piece Collective, a Venice boutique known for creating a truly unique shopping experience and offering products that are subtle with a boom of creativity and color, has tapped Los Angeles designer, Elissa Kravetz, to bring her stunning one-of-a-kind silks to the shop for this special Sun Child pop-up.
Sun Child will showcase in the back half of the shop, where dresses, jumpsuits, pants and kimonos will be available to shoppers through June 28.
About Sun Child
A passion for travel brought Elissa on a trip throughout Asia and while on a yoga retreat in Goa, she met a family who source vintage and new silk saris. Elissa’s desire to help this family paired with her passion for fashion, led to a working relationship nearly immediately. Within six months, Elissa returned to Goa. Not even a monsoon could stop her from creating 100 dresses with the family. With her suitcase filled, she flew back to the states to sell to her friends and family.
With the dresses selling faster than Elissa could have ever imagined and the demand for more daily, Sun Child was born. She returned to India, creating her next collection. Adding on to her original style of one-of-a-kind dresses, Elissa expanded in to jackets, jumpsuits, pants and tank tops. The current collection has 6 key bodies in a variety of prints and colors, with no two pieces being alike.
Sun Child provides jobs to people throughout a small village in Goa, employing individual artisans rather than large factories. Each silk is blessed, hand-sewn and curated with love.
A cabin nestled deep in the woods of Topanga Canyon is home for Sun Child where Elissa invites clients to join her in the showroom for an experience that consists of silks, sipping of teas and sometimes the occasional Indian food feast. For those not fortunate enough to make the visit to the West Coast showroom, Elissa conducts virtual FaceTime shopping appointments with women around the globe. The Sun Child collection is available in specialty boutiques including Roseark, Principessa and Gjusta Goods in Los Angeles and Warm in New York City as well as available on the e-ecommerce site www.iamsunchild.com.
Retail prices range from $125 – $650
