L.A. Influencer Groups Unite for a Good Cause

Weeks before Governor Gavin Newsom kicked off the Clean California program to beautify public spaces, a collective of eco-conscious L.A. mom influencer groups had already coordinated a green effort of their own— a Santa Monica Beach clean-up which will take place on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 8-11 a.m.

Led by The Mommy Blogger Tribe, the Beach Clean-up is intended to bring moms together to instill environmental awareness in their children, improve the popular L.A. County beach and make new friends along the way.

“The beach clean up idea stemmed from a recent visit to the Aquarium of the Pacific,” explains Naza Holliman, founder of the Mommy Blogger Tribe. “The boys and I learned about the health of coral reefs. We walked out thinking something must be done and this is the perfect way to get involved.”

Holliman reached out to the Aquarium for tips and information and summoned other local mom groups to participate. Given the partnerships many of these local influencer groups have established with brands and companies, they all united and began working side by side to secure sponsors for the beach clean-up day. As a result of the collaborative effort, people who register and attend will receive swag bags. Those with a ticket will also receive gloves and bags for trash collection.

“Collaboration over competition is the goal,” says Holliman. “We want to come together to help the environment… and show our children that, not only can we be the change in the world, we can be the change amongst ourselves.”

Families can participate in the Santa Monica Beach clean-up by signing up through the eventbrite event page here.
