Final Weeks of Main Street Electrical Parade

Lighting Up the Night Through 8/20

Disney fans have less than two weeks to enjoy the Main Street Electrical Parade before its lights are dimmed for good.

The classic nighttime parade featuring the famous “Baroque Hoedown” Soundtrack returned to Disneyland on January 20, 2017 after a 20-year hiatus. It was initially supposed to run through June 18 but due to popular demand, it was extended through August 20.

The Disneyland Website says the parade offers “endearing denizens of classic Disney tales like: Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Pete’s Dragon and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”.

At the head of the parade is Engineer Goofy, driving a steaming locomotive that pulls Mickey and Minnie aboard a gigantic bass drum. Following them, numerous bright floats with troupes of light-covered performers pass by during the electrifying presentation. The festivities culminate with a salute to America featuring dancers in patriotic dress and a majestic bald eagle fashioned from brilliant golden lights.

If you haven’t made it out to Disneyland, the Main Street Electrical Parade is a worthwhile attraction to visit the Happiest Place on Earth. For those who can indulge, a Main Street Electrical Parade Dining Package comes with a voucher for a preferred parade viewing area.
