Code Ninjas to Debut in Studio City to Teach Kids Coding in a Cool Way

Children ages 5-14 can learn how to code in a fun & safe environment

Kids Get Encouragement from Code Senseis!

Say the words “video game” and the kids are bound to stop and listen. The local owners of a new Code Ninjas, a renowned name in children’s coding education, that opened earlier this year at 13611 Ventura Blvd, know that video games aren’t only fun, but educational too. Code Ninjas will serve the local area by teaching children computer coding and problem-solving skills while having fun building video games.

Local husband and wife duo Franz Bautista and Katherine Lee-Bautista bring a unique blend of expertise to their Code Ninjas franchise. Franz, who has over 25 years of experience in marketing and advertising, settled on the East Coast after moving from the Philippines in the 80’s. He pursued his education in California, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. Katherine is a seasoned attorney who runs her own law firm. Leveraging Franz’s marketing background and Katherine’s legal expertise, the couple discovered Code Ninjas and saw an opportunity to provide a coding education in an alternative way for children. With three kids of their own, they opened their franchise in January 2024, quickly gaining community support and success that is driven by their shared dedication to business and family.

“For us, Studio City and the surrounding neighborhoods presented an exciting opportunity to introduce an inclusive educational environment beyond traditional activities,” shared Franz. “Recognizing the vibrant spirit of this community, we eagerly embraced the chance to bring Code Ninjas here, offering a nurturing space for kids to explore and excel in coding. We’re genuinely thrilled to be part of Studio City’s journey and look forward to positively impacting the Studio City area by providing a platform where children can learn, grow, and thrive.”

Studio City children ages 5-14 can look forward to visiting the new Code Ninjas center to learn how to code in a fun, safe, and social learning environment where gaming is celebrated, and STEM is cool. Everything about Code Ninjas is built around fun, which keeps kids coming back. But the center also provides the results that parents are looking for, as their children gain coding and problem-solving skills they’ll use to make a positive impact on the community, such as creating apps or websites to solve local problems. At Code Ninjas, kids have fun and parents see results.

Code Ninjas accomplishes this with a robust, game-based curriculum made up of nine belts, just like martial arts. The curriculum is self-paced, but not self-taught; kids get immediate help and encouragement from Code Senseis and fellow students as they advance from white to black belt. By the time a child finishes the program, they will publish a video game on a gaming platform.

Code Ninjas offers a variety of opportunities for children to get involved, including a flexible scheduling options that cater to after school, camps and Parents Night Out events on weekends.
